  • Pineapple Plants are part of the Bromeliad family and are native to South America.
  • Pineapple Plants are air purifiers.
  • Pineapple Plants are not toxic to pets or humans.
  • Pineapple Plants prefer consistently moist soil during their growing season (usually summer and fall) and especially whenever they have the flower/fruit stalk. Allow the top inch or so of the soil to dry between waterings. In the winter, cut back on watering and allow the soil to dry out between waterings. They're a big fan of humidity, so consider adding misting to your care routine or using a pebble tray or humidifier.
  • Pineapple Plants prefer direct sunlight, ideally for 6+ hours a day. A good spot would be within 1 metre of a southern-facing window.
  • Pineapple Plants don't need any plant food, so you can skip the fertilizer.
  • Pineapple Plants will need to be repotted every 1-2 years after fruiting. Once the plant fruits, it will put out new "pups" and the "mother" plant will start to decline. Once the "mother plant" turns brown and withers, she can be pruned away and the new "pups" can be repotted into their own pots. The "pups" will often be ready to fruit again within 1-2 years. When repotting, use a well draining potting soil, like one designed for cacti or succulents.
  • Pineapple Plants don't require any regular pruning.
  • Keep an eye out for mealy bugs and scale, they're a big fan of Pineapple Plants.
